Attorney Roberts negotiated with MassHealth and obtained lien releases. Attorney Roberts handled the real estate closing and we distributed proceeds from the real estate closing to me and my brothers and sisters. Posted on Avvo.com on September 23, 2022
Saved Parents' life savings
During a very difficult time in my life when my Father passed away and my mother had severe Alzheimers and needed nursing home care, Attorney Roberts showed compassion in navigating the Medicaid rules to help pay for my moms much needed care. My Parents had done some advance planning and we were able to keep a large percentage of the closing proceeds when we sold the house. Attorney Roberts again came up with a way to set aside the remaining proceeds in a Pooled Trust account to take care of all my moms supplemental needs. Without his help and support we would have lost what my parents worked so hard to earn and my mother would not have gotten the care she was able to receive. I will always be thankful for the work Attorney Roberts did. Posted on Better Business Bureau site on August 26, 2022

I served as Trustee for a Living Trust and called Attorney Roberts to terminate the Trust. Attorney Roberts prepared a Trust Distribution Plan that complied with the Trust document and the Massachusetts Uniform Trust Code. He reviewed the Trust income and assets and put the figures into a format used by the Probate Court, so that the beneficiaries could easily understand how the assets were managed and distributed. He also worked directly with our CPA to finalize the tax returns.

We engaged Attorney Roberts 10 years ago to assist in updating our parent's estate plan. He guided us through understanding complex state tax and estate laws and helped us make appropriate decisions after our father died. He assisted our family in settling our mother's estate when she passed, navigating necessary legal filings, communicating with financial advisors and preparing the estate tax return. We were able to avoid probate. Attorney Roberts is honest, caring and dedicated to his client.

We needed to transfer a family member’s Massachusetts Guardianship to Connecticut. Attorney Roberts prepared the documents the first day I met with him, and he met with the Hampden County Probate Court personnel and filed the necessary documents that same day. The transfer process was completed properly and efficiently. In addition, I found Attorney Roberts extremely knowledgeable and very client focused. He always kept me informed of the status of the issue, and retuned phone calls promptly.

When a family member passed away without a will, Attorney Roberts handled all aspects of her estate (court appointing me her personal representative, real estate sale, payoff of all debts including local, state and federal taxes, etc.). I live out of town and we were able to handle most things by email/phone/fax, preventing me from needing to travel most of the time. I do not hesitate to recommend Attorney. Roberts to anyone who needs help settling an estate.

Attorney Roberts worked with me on the estate of a Connecticut resident who intended to leave money for the Supplemental Needs of his disabled daughter, but the Testamentary Trust signed by the deceased was ambiguous. Attorney Roberts prepared the Memorandum we needed to show the Probate Court to get the Trust reformed. Attorney Roberts explained the family’s options for Supplemental Needs planning, and they chose an option that was accepted by the Probate Court.

Attorney Roberts was my lawyer who helped me through my home buying process in spring of 2018. Throughout the weeks leading up to the sale of the property, he was thorough and helpful in every way. As a new home buyer, I felt comfortable in coming to him for any questions regarding the home buying process. Roberts was very reliable and anything needing my attention was quickly brought to me physically or digitally. I highly recommend him working with him as he will make your process smooth.
